THE HISTORICAL MARKER

History in the public record.

The 1997 marker records the lodge’s beginnings and its tradition of supporting education. It notes school cornerstone ceremonies in 1901 and 1923 and a Lamar award for a local high school student.

The marker has since been moved to the current Burkburnett location, according to Tommy’s October 2026 update. The county’s historical listing still identifies its earlier Iowa Park location.
